Club History

Our story began in 1946, when 30 founding members chartered the Bally Lions Club with a single, urgent mission: to bring the Bally Ambulance Corps to life and put emergency care within reach of our neighbors. Though the club later dissolved as membership thinned, the spirit of service never left town. On May 1, 1971, 22 determined members breathed new life into the Bally Lions — and we've been growing ever since.

Today, 39 members strong, we span every chapter of life: from 18-year-olds just getting started to members proudly past 80. What unites us isn't age — it's a shared belief that a small group of committed neighbors can make a real difference in the place we call home.

We gather twice a month. The 2nd Monday brings us together for a dinner meeting at the Main Street Pub — good food, good company, and plenty of ideas. The 4th Monday is our business meeting at 6:30 pm, held at the Dennis Hafer Medical Supply Building (50 N 4th Street), home to our Medical Equipment Lending Program, where wheelchairs, walkers, and other essentials are loaned free of charge to those who need them.
