Support the Bally Lions

Your contribution funds the programs, events, and neighbor-to-neighbor help that make Bally the kind of town people want to live in.

Why Your Contribution Matters Here

The Bally Lions is entirely volunteer-run. Nobody takes a salary, nobody draws a paycheck, and there's no office staff absorbing overhead. That means when you give to us, almost every dollar ends up in the hands of the programs and neighbors we serve.

In a typical year, the Bally Lions puts thousands of dollars back into the local community. We can do that because our members give their time for free — your contribution just amplifies the work that's already happening.

Where Your Money Goes

Most of what you give stays in Bally or nearby. Here's what that looks like in practice:

  • The annual Bally Halloween Parade — one of the biggest community events of the year
  • Our Medical Equipment Lending Program — wheelchairs, walkers, shower chairs, and other equipment loaned free to residents who need them
  • Local families and individuals going through a rough stretch — a medical bill, a fire, a loss
  • Youth and scholarship support for Bally-area students
  • Lions International causes delivered locally — vision care, childhood cancer support, diabetes awareness, and hunger relief

When you see kids walking down Main Street in the Halloween Parade, or a neighbor using one of our loaner wheelchairs, or a student handed a scholarship check — that's where contributions end up. Real, visible things that make Bally a place where people look out for each other.

About Tax Deductibility

We want to be upfront: contributions to the Bally Lions Club are not tax-deductible as charitable donations.

The Bally Lions is a local affiliate of Lions Clubs International, which is organized as a 501(c)(4) social welfare organization rather than a 501(c)(3) public charity. It's the same structure our parent organization uses.

If tax deductibility is important to you, Lions Clubs International Foundation (LCIF) is a separate 501(c)(3) that accepts tax-deductible donations at lionsclubs.org/donate. Those gifts support Lions programs worldwide — not the work here in Bally. If you want your contribution to stay in this community, giving directly to the Bally Lions Club is the way to do it.

Questions About Giving?

If you want to talk about a specific contribution, ask where the money has gone in the past, or discuss recurring giving, our Treasurer handles contribution questions.
